  • More Miles, More Smiles: The Husqvarna Young Cross YC5 Is Just For Kids

Our latest generation, child-focused e-bike that will help boost every ride

Child’s play! Ushering in an all-new generation of e-bikes for kids, the Husqvarna Young Cross 5 is here to maximise family bike rides and fun times for children. An e-bike that encourages kids from ages seven to 11 years old to ride more, adventure more and ultimately, do more, the Young Cross 5 will have them grinning from ear to ear.

With its bold and exciting electronic yellow colourway, the Young Cross 5 is designed to stand out from the crowd in a way that encourages play time. And, as both Husqvarna and our motor partner MAHLE like to think, an active child is a healthy and happy one too.

“Riding an e-bike like the Young Cross 5 encourages physical activity,” say MAHLE, regarding their new, high-tech X30 hub-mounted drive unit featured on the Young Cross 5. “Despite the assistance of the system, the pedalling and intensity required to operate an e-bike helps children to stay active and get more exercise, thus promoting a healthy lifestyle.

“For MAHLE to be able to partner with Husqvarna for the new Young Cross 5 is a great opportunity, as it reinforces our commitment to work with brands to develop the most innovative solutions. The new Young Cross 5, in combination with the MAHLE X30 system, opens up a world of possibilities for the youngest riders.”

    A confidence grower

It’s a confidence builder too. The addition of assistance can increase ride time and distance, not to mention developing physical motor skills, along with improving balance and coordination. This means bigger rides, exploring more and experiencing new adventures.

“Riding an e-bike can boost a child’s confidence and independence,” continue MAHLE. “It allows them to overcome more difficult or demanding situations that they would not be able to overcome with a traditional bicycle. It also provides opportunities for outdoor exploration and adventure, in a way that promotes a love for nature.”

Cycling all together as a family

With the demands of everyday life becoming ever more hectic, maximising family time wherever possible is incredibly important to us. Spending quality time with your children outdoors brings everyone together in the best way possible.

With its 237 Wh battery, fitted neatly into the 24” aluminium frame, the Young Cross 5 has the potential for up to 90 kilometres of range, depending on factors such as terrain, riding conditions and rider’s weight. This means longer family rides and outings are possible. Children can keep up with adults, making it more enjoyable for everyone in a way that ultimately creates lasting memories.
